A job yes that's right a job!

Last night I wrote in great length about the whole process of me getting the job at Platt Electric yesterday. I decided that is was a tad too wordy so here it is in Readers Digest form.

A few weeks back M was getting the car worked on and across the street from the shop was Platt, so when she got home she asked if I had ever thought about calling them up and seeing if they where hiring. The only things I knew about the place was that they sell electrical supplies to various electrical contractors, schools, and businesses in the local area. Also a former class mate of mine got a job there after he finished school at the tech college.

I figured why not, so I called them up, and ended up talking to the manager. He told me to fill out their on line application and to call him back once I had filled it out. I called him back and talked with him; two meetings later, a phone call from their human resources department and a hand shake from the store manager I got a job. It's a full time position. The exact hours won't get worked out until the 27th which is my first day. After my first meeting with the store manager I had gotten a really great feeling about the company and it paid off.

I'm really happy about starting this new job, but a little scared at the same time. This is the real thing it's not school or a part time job this I have a feeling is going to be a career. Thank you to all the people who have supported me through out this whole time; my wife, Nicky and Elaine, my family, M's family, and my good friend Rob from the Tech College. I know it all may seem a bit cheesy but I really do mean it. Thank you.
