Well hello out there! I feel bad that I haven't been keeping you all up with how we're all doing out here.
First off we had to take our car in to get some work done on it. For about 2 months or so M kept on hearing a "click-click" noise from the front end of the car. And for a while I couldn't really hear it until early last Monday. So that Friday M took the car up and dropped it off, and had them look at it. After they had took the car out for a short drive and looked over the car for what was wrong, told M that the noise was coming from the front right axel boot. They continued to tell her that it was their recommendation to get not only the right side replaced but to get both right and left sides replaced. The mechanic also told her that the timing belt needed to be replaced because it looked like it was about to give up. M gave the go ahead, and was told that the car would be ready to be picked up on Monday afternoon. Monday afternoon rolled around, so M called up to the repair shop and asked how things where going. They told her that the parts truck was running late and that they wouldn't get the part until later that day. So as of Monday they had the car for four days. All Towing which is where we took the car told M that they would try to get the car out by late Tuesday afternoon, which happened to be the day of Adrians baby shower.
So by then we where relying on the fact that the car would be ready in time for us to go get it, and to drive ourselves over to where the shower was going to be. So M had our friend N.M. come over our place to take M up to All Towing to get the car. She called up there to tell them that she was on her way to get the car, and the person at All Towing told her that one of the mechanics didn't like the way something was looking on the car. You can only guess what they said then. (Long pause) The car wouldn't be ready until Wednesday morning! OH MY GOD!!!! M told them that by not having the car ready made things more complicated for us. Because for the last few days I had been getting rides to and from school from my classmates, and we need the car back. So All Towing told M that on Wednesday morning they would come and pick her up here at our apartment. Wednesday morning came around and sure enough they came to pick M up, and M drove the car back up to the repair shop to pay for the work done on the car. Lets just say "ouch" and leave it at that shall we?
As I mentioned before some of M's friends threw a post baby shower for M and Adrian this past Tuesday. It was held over at a friends house and had about 17 people over. It was very nice and we all had a lot of fun. It was also nice to see some of our friends who we hadn't seen for a few months. We got all kinds of really nice gifts, one of my favorites was a framed black and white 8x10 close up of Adrian, taken the day after he was born. It was taken by our friend Diego. We got all kinds of baby supplies, clothes, books, and the likes. My Uncle Bruce and Aunt Irene from Long Island sent out a really nice outfit which will look might sharp on him when he gets a little bigger.
Speaking of getting bigger, Adrian had his two week check up with our doctor, Dr. Short today. Usually a baby is expected to gain their birth weight back with in the first week, week and a half. Adrian weighed 8 lbs, 3 oz when he was born, then weighed 7 lbs, 13 oz about a week later, today when he wieghed he was 9 lbs, 3 oz. He also had grown two more inches in length from 21 1/4" to his now length of 23". Which means he could be about 10lbs by this time next week. Pretty crazy.
So far it's been fun, and a huge learning experience for both of us. The whole time leading up to him being born I had gotten my self thinking the worse bout what it would be like to have a baby. And you know what, I like it! I don't care if his easy going temperament doesn't last because he is, well how can I put it, ........ he is who he is and I love him.
He is my son Adrian, soon to be who he will be.
