Events as they unfolded.

Adrian is finally here! Almost two weeks after his due date. Let me fill people in on how it went down on the night of the twelfth. M went to bed around 10:30 pm or so. Carol was still up using the computer and I went into the bedroom to go watch some TV. After about 15 minutes I turned off the TV and went to sleep, M got up to use the rest room and came back to bed 5 minutes later. I sort of woke up, just enough to see her come back to bed. Next thing I realize Carol is waking me up telling me it's time to go to the hospital. By now it's 11:45 pm on Tuesday the 12th. I get up and I hear M moaning really loud, and it hits me what's happening, she started contractions. I scampered to change into warm clothes as Carol and M call the doctor. They tell the doctor that she's started and he told them he would let the hospital know we where on the way up. We left our place just after mid-night and got up to the hospital a little after 12:20 am. Once we got there we where taken into a small room so the nurses could monitor M's and Adrian's vital signs. When the nurse checked to see how far M was along she told us that she was 6 cm dilated. That's when our nurse Merry-Ann moved M to the larger room so M could get into the tub and in some warm water. By then the nurse checked M again and said that she was 8 cm dilated. M was in the tub having contractions for only about 30 mintues or so, that's when she first started feeling the need to push. The time is now 5 minutes to 2:00 am, M started to push and 18 minutes later Adrian came into this world at 2:13 am on January 13th 2005.

Soon Enough

D-Date +5. Still no baby to report, so to all those who will probabyly continue to ask, I assure you that you will be called when the little man makes his appearence. Thursday is when M is scheduled to go in to get induced. M really dosen't want to have the procedure done but that's what the doctor said, and by the time she'll induced it will be a week and two days over her due date so it will be time for him to come out. Today should be M's last day at work before the baby comes, yes that's right she has still been going to work. With her home she'll have more time to concentrate on getting Adrian out. Since she's been going to work she's always busy, she'll have a few contractions at work, and while she's at home she has them but as soon as she goes to sleep they stop. (suck!)

My brother is visiting Seattle for the next week or so, he arrived on Saturday and is staying two blocks away from the Space Needle. He made the trip with his friend Niki, she's a friend of his from high school, And I have yet to figure their sleeping arrangments in their room. I talked with AOS yesterday and he sounds like their having fun time down there, and they have alot of places planned to visit. He probably won't be coming up to B'ham though, which sort of sucks cause I would have like to have seen him while he's out here. Although I think it will be good for him to do something on his own and to experience a new city.

Day by Day

M went back to work today, and told me on the way to school that regardless of what happens next Monday will be her last day. That is of course if Adrian comes before then. M is hopeing that by being on her feet all day will help the process a little bit. Well besides the fact that there is no baby yet we're both doing well, for the time being.

School is starting a little slow but it will pick up soon enough. Yesterday my friend Chris and I did the second of our four AC generator labs that we have to do this quarter. The experiment uses almost six different pieces of equitment, 2 DC Machines, 2 Three-Phase AC Generators, Phaseing Lamps, a watt meter, and a Snycroscope, just to name a few. Not to mention the use of 8 digital multi-meters to measure voltage and current. It was a pretty cool lab and it was very big, as in taking up alot of work space. At one point during the experiment we had one of the DC machines and AC generator sets running the other by producing a nice 208 volts AC. It was pretty awsome!

I guess I better go to class now, catch you later.

Today has come, and well, gone.

Today was technically the due date for Adrian to make his big appearance. As one can imagine M would have liked him to come today but he choose the later. When M went in for her appiontment with Dr. Covert Bowles he told her that things looked good and he scheduled her for an induction on the 13th if things continued the way they where. He told her that most of the time when he schedules the inductions the soon to be mother rarely make it that far, so let us hope that. M told me that since he has dropped he feels more heavy than before, and can't wait for him to come on out. A majority of the day has passed, and we'll see what the night and early morning brings us.

A new year, a new baby, and a new, well everything.

Wll it's the new year, and new things are bound to happen. Today is the third and that means that it's one day before M's due date. It's getting a little nerve racking waiting for Adrian to come along, even though M hasn't been having any sort of strong contractions. If Adrian dosen't come today M will be going in tomorrow to meet with Dr. Covert Bowles who will be delivering Adrian. I have yet to meet him, but from what M has told me about him he is a really nice person with almost 30 years of experience. Actually the last time we met with Susan she asked us if she was unable to do the delivery who would we like to have preform it if she could not. Since M had met him already the choice was not a problem. Except for the fact that Susan would not be able to help with the delivery.

Today is the first day of a new school quarter for me. This will be my fifth and final quarter in the Electrician program. We'll be learning more about motor control, solid state devices, and Programable Logic Control (PLC's). I have a feeling that it's going to be alot of fun, it might be alittle rough at first but it will mellow out in a week or two.
